Case study

Throughout the past years Walton Designs have supplied furniture and equipment for many of the recent Academy builds.

Skinners Academy in Woodberry Grove, London is a new build Academy for girls & boys aged 11 – 19 years. Funded by the Skinners Company, the Academy specialises in the teaching of business, entrepreneurship & ICT.

With a modern 21st century building & equipment teachers and students at Skinners Academy have the resources for success.

Walton Designs designed and manufactured a vast array of furniture for the Skinners Academy build. With a focus in IT based learning we supplied a range of ICT tables to suit the many different requirements of students, from our basic cable managed units, to geared height adjustable tables for the use by disabled students & teachers.

Spacious areas in the Skinners building allowed the layout of open learning areas, with access to computers and communal meeting tables, encouraging the development of group creativity and social skills.

With an emphasis on technology subjects Skinners houses machining for design technology classrooms. Supplying fixed benching for these areas along with the machining itself Walton Designs helped create functional classrooms for a modern build.

Since the handover of Skinners Academy in winter 2010 we have given after care for all our products along with training on DT machining, ensuring our products meet requirements & satisfaction for years to come.
